Limpus announces MeeGo 1.2 update for their products

Limpus, the world leader which offers open source operating system solutions in the consumer space declared its ventures to upgrade their netbook and tablet MeeGo-based operating systems to MeeGo 1.2. With its brand new Limpus Lite MeeGo edition, Limpus would introduce some of the amazing enhancements in the form of Widget desktop, Widget framework and Lock screen. SAN FRANCISCO, May 23rd, 2011 – Today at the MeeGo* Conference, Linpus, a leader in the field of open source operating system solutions in the consumer space, announced plans to upgrade both their netbook and tablet MeeGo-based operating systems to MeeGo 1.2.
Linpus Lite for MeeGo tablet and netbook editions incorporate the MeeGo common code base and have a user experience built by Linpus – as well as the MeeGo user interface building blocks.
Linpus Lite MeeGo – Tablet Edition was one of the first tablet editions based on MeeGo. It had a full set of touch optimized, customized applications, including: ereader, browser, media player, mail, photo viewer, maps, contacts  and  calendar. This new edition will make a number of enhancements on the first edition, including:
  • Widget desktop – Additional widget desktop designed to display rich cloud and device content.
  • Widget framework – Can convert applications into widgets and sync content.
  • Lock screen – Linpus lock screen with OEM-by-OEM unique gestures for added personalization.

Linpus’ netbook edition is currently shipping with a number of different OEMs including Fujitsu, Lenovo and Acer. For its netbook edition Linpus has also completely redesigned M-Zone and added new functionality so now you can login, view messages and answer directly from your M-Zone social network panel.
Linpus will be exhibiting the full range of its products at Computex, Taipei, May 31st – June 4th. You can find them at booth L202 on the 4th Floor of Nangang Exhibition Center.
