SAN FRANCISCO, May 23rd, 2011 – Today at the MeeGo* Conference, Linpus, a leader in the field of open source operating system solutions in the consumer space, announced plans to upgrade both their netbook and tablet MeeGo-based operating systems to MeeGo 1.2. Linpus Lite for MeeGo tablet and netbook editions incorporate the MeeGo common code base and have a user experience built by Linpus – as well as the MeeGo user interface building blocks. Linpus Lite MeeGo – Tablet Edition was one of the first tablet editions based on MeeGo. It had a full set of touch optimized, customized applications, including: ereader, browser, media player, mail, photo viewer, maps, contacts and calendar. This new edition will make a number of enhancements on the first edition, including:
- Widget desktop – Additional widget desktop designed to display rich cloud and device content.
- Widget framework – Can convert applications into widgets and sync content.
