The agents of Nanapho.jp recently figured out a secret LTE and CDMA menu within the Nokia Windows phone diagnostics app.
The following entries were detected in the app:
• LTE TX
• LTE Band Lock
Selecting the LTE band lock option lets you choose the band that LTE hardware uses, like “Band 4” or “Band 17” that are used by AT&T, which may well indicate the launch of Nokia’s LTE devices much faster than expected. The pages of CDMA MMS messaging are also present that are said to be an indication that Nokia’s support staff is working on CDMA versions for carriers.
Rumors also have it that Nokia might release the Lumia 800 or Lumia 900 on AT&T having LTE support and this is said to a proof of it. Whatever it may be, all the suspense is sure to end in next month’s CES.
