A Nokia’s spokesman said on January 20th that Nokia will have a Windows Phone 7 mobile phone on sale in China in the first half of 2012. It means that Nokia will be the first company to bring a Windows Phone to China.
It is noticeable that the Microsoft attaches great importance to the Chinese market. For example, to ensure that there will be enough localized software, the Microsoft China have translated its total MDSN website and online courses of WP software development into Chinese and also provided many free Lumia 800 and free off-line courses to Chinese developers.
Even though iPhone has gained a lot from Chinese market recently, Nokia still had the largest smartphone market share in China. China has always been one of the most important markets for Nokia. Although the spokesman did not give details of the release of this Windows Phone but the release date may be a little late. Nokia and Microsoft need some time to prepare for the big smartphone market, especially to overcome the language barriers.
