Recently, Microsoft filed a patent for dual display mobile phones. While there are a few other handsets in the markets already having dual display, what would make Microsoft stand apart from all it’s competitors is the fact that it will try to cover as much of back panel of the phone as possible. That includes even the curling over the sides. The display would most probably be low-powered, just like e-ink. This will basically make sure that the information on display does not change that frequently, be it date, time or logos or tattoos by Microsoft.
This would be of great advantage while taking a picture from a dual display phone. The back side could be well-used for a visual countdown and could make sure that the person knows well when to freeze for smile. 3-2-1 will be the countdown appearing over the back and then “Snap”.
