Microsoft’s strategies of establishing the windows Phone ecosystem by jumping from feature phones to smartphones has really caught up well in Asia and other developing countries. At present, Android are the most sold smartphones here as not only are they available for cheap but also easy to manufacture.
With more and more Windows Phone devices launching and to be launched, including ZTE and HTC, in the Asian-Pacific region, it is all set to surpass Blackberry by the end of 2014. Currently, Android has the most sold handsets with about 80 million units shipped. The next in the list is iPhone with 44 million units shipped. Even though Windows Phones are expected to reach only the 10 million mark by the end of 2012, analysts are predicting that Windows Phone ecosystem will be the king of the market by the end of 2014.
Now that will be one interesting and significant growth to see.
