Earlier, we had reported that the marketshare of Windows Phone platform saw an increase of as much as 3-4% in the United States, as per the stats of a marketshare research firm. Now, this integration of Facebook somewhat confirms the previous fact. The Windows Phone Facebook users have rose to nearly 1.9 million users. What’s interesting to see is the fact that the latest 1 million users were added in just a matter of 20 days.
According to figures released by WMPU, about 3.2 millions of Windows Phone handsets have been sold in the second quarter of this year, and this figure does not take into account the sales figure of Chinese Tango, as that handset does not have built-in Facebook integration. If Windows Phone marketshare continues to grow at this steady pace, it is likely to achieve a marketshare between 5-10% at the end of this year.
The marketshare also depends greatly on the app developers who need to cope up with the ever-increasing sales figures of Windows Phone handsets and develop apps for this burgeoning ecosystem.
