Ditch the Console and Get a Phone

Ditch the Console and Get a Phone

If you’re an avid gamer, you probably known how much of an investment video games can be. You shell out a couple hundred bucks for some fancy, high-end console (God help you if it was first generation and suffers from factory defects) and then you pay upwards to about $60 for a game. I have a better idea. If you have a good wireless connection through services like http://clearwirelessinternet.com, then why not just ditch the console and get yourself a smartphone.

You may not believe this, but the games being developed for the smartphone interface have come a long way since those atrocious Angry Birds, and now some truly console-quality gameplay experiences are being delivered straight into your hot little hands. And the best part about it is that you can get them at a fraction of the cost you would have to pay for some of the offerings of the big name publishers. The biggest investment you would make is purchasing the smartphone itself, but for the amount you would normally pay for a brand new console game ($70-$60), you could download and play almost five times as many games. And some games that you can get for the big name gaming consoles even have cheaper, smartphone versions.

Of course, granted, not every game out there is available on the smartphone and if there is a specific game you just have to play, then you probably will need a gaming console to make that happen. However, if you are simply an avid yet casual gamer who needs their daily fix between assignments or during the bus commute to work, there are cheaper ways to achieve this outlet and, instead of shelling out the cash for that console, you might consider reaching into your coat pocket and powering up that phone.
